Hi Reader,
In the latest episode of the Simple Reflections Podcast I'm joined by Harriet Hancock.
Harriet is a senior leader in the justice and immigration sector who has found that coaching from a Three Principles based perspective has enabled her to be a more grounded, capable and supportive leader. Harriet and I have known each other for a few years now, having crossed paths through One Thought. We’ve always found it interesting that as leaders with fairly complex and hostile working environments that we’ve both been drawn to look in the same direction to be of greater service.
In this episode… which includes an unavoidable technical hitch (sorry)… we discuss the place of simplicity in complex environments. We also discuss the role curiosity plays for leaders and their teams to be able to tap in to their innate clarity and creativity.
Harriet paraphrased two quotes, as like me, she can’t rely on being able to nail them word for word but we both know we can convey the sentiment. However, I thought I’d share them with you here:
"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking that created them." Albert Einstein
"If the only thing people learned was not to be afraid of their experience, that alone would change the world." Sydney Banks
Harriet and I are both firm believers in both these statements and relish the opportunity to help people realise them for themselves.
Feel free to reply to this email, I’d love to hear where you’ve been surprised that you have found curiosity, creativity and clarity in your life, despite the complexity of the ongoing situation?
