Hi Reader,
Have you ever noticed how solid gold ideas come from periods of silence?
The latest episode of the Simple Reflections Podcast is very special to me. In it I’m joined by Sarah Anderson. Sarah is part of the RIFLES Regimental family and she’s kindly offered to share her family’s experience of navigating Post Traumatic Stress.
Sarah is a trained counsellor, a mum of five, a volunteer with the Always a Rifleman Programme (as I am) and the wife of a former Rifleman, now Member of Parliament for South Shropshire, Stuart Anderson.
My key take away from our conversation is the power of the love, care and support of family and friends is huge. If we find ourselves in a supporting role, we don’t need to know the answers, all we need to do is listen without judgement and hold space for the person we are supporting… and don’t be afraid of silence; it’s where the gold tends to show up!
I’d love to know what golden ideas have shown up for you from a moment of silence?
